Rocketman, 2018 (Sold)
12" x 20" x 7"
Hand carved basswood, clock movement, clock cabinet, music box, found objects
Turn the vintage clock key to make the brass clock gears turn. The gears activate the red rocket in orbit while the man in the moon opens his eyes to watch his journey. Pull a separate button to activate a music box which plays "fly me to the moon".
The moon and rocket are carved from basswood, the mechanics are from a modified, early 1900’s clock movement. The moon’s eyes are 1930’s doll eyes. The clock cabinet is an 1960’s Mahogany, electric clock case.
